In the past few years, Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation has distributed more than $2 million in Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grants throughout the country. In 2012, Lowe’s awarded nearly $5 million in grants to over 1,100 school. A variety of improvement projects are available for K-12 public schools through grants. A Toolbox grant of up to $100,000 is available to large schools and school districts. 

There is a wide range of grants available, ranging from $2,000 to $100,000. The majority of grants will be in the range of $2,000 to $5,000. Larger projects are typically between $10,000 and $25,000. In the case of critical need projects exceeding $25,000, individual consideration will be given to each project.

In communities where Lowe’s operates stores and distribution centers, the Foundation funds 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits, including local municipalities and K-12 public and charter schools.

All seniors who plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States are eligible to apply for the Lowe’s Educational Scholarship. The student or parent must have experience serving the community either professionally or as a volunteer.

Each year, the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation awards $600,000 in scholarships to students living in Lowe’s serviced communities across the country. All students in the United States, including Lowe’s employees’ children, are eligible to apply for the Lowe’s Educational Scholarship.
